Oh, so now Global Warming includes massive snowstorms and temperatures far below normal? How convenient. You'd think they'd have thought of that when they originally came up with the name. But okay, we'll call it Climate Change now. Perhaps it is also time for Obama to consider renaming it the Stagnation/Stimulus Plan. You know, just to play it safe in case the unemployment rate increases. Oh wait, it did? Must've missed it while I was outside shoveling snow.
The "Little Ice Age" ran from the 16th to the 19th centuries - severe winters gripped the world. The Baltic Sea froze over to such an extent that travel was possible by sleigh from Poland to Sweden.
ReplyDeleteThe cause, examined today, was due to slight global warming. One of the symptoms of global is extreme weather, and insane winters definitely qualify. Any sort of erratic weather patterns can be blamed on global warming.
I'm not saying that Manhattan is going underwater, but there are definitely signs of an altered climate due to chemicals.
Got it. And the "Little Ice Age" was caused by all of the CO2 that our cars and factories were spewing into the atmosphere at the end of the medieval period? Or, wait a second, it ended during the industrial age. I'm so confused. Basically, climate change has occurred before, prior to any impact humans may have had...possibly suggesting that we're not as much to blame as we might think, and perhaps, just perhaps, we're not capable of altering a natural cycle no matter how many Priuses (Prii?) we drive, how many more solar panels (subsidized by your tax dollars) are installed, or how many more limitations the government imposes on our businesses and lives.
